Excellent Had such a great time here! Great things to see, especially close -- walking distance. The waffles were good. Folks were fun, Had fun with one of the Bohemian managers. He was mint! I'll be back!

Traveler friendly, great accomodations within walking distance of city I stayed here eight nights on my Tucson "leg" of my one year travel adventure. I really enjoyed staying at the Roadrunner Hostel as it was very user friendly for travelers, a reasonably priced hostel, has very friendly staff, an amazingly well equipped full kitchen with industrial gas stove/oven, two full refrigerators, washers and dryers, and free laundry detergent, free Belgian waffles and coffee every a.m., a nice patio, off the street parking, very clean bathrooms, excellent water pressure and lots of hot water. the manager is a genuinely committed individual dedicated to making this hostel the best it can possibly be. He is seen always working on a project to make the house even better than it is. He was putting up a brand new patio awning and resetting the large bricks so that it would be even. He takes a great deal of pride in the house and wants travelers to have a positive stay. I met many others here who also had a positive impression. Above all on Thanksgiving, the staff made a homemade meal from scratch for all the guests who were staying there. Turkey, and all the trimmings -- homemade -- and three different kinds of pies with either eggnog or gingerbread house ice cream or cool whip. It is absolutely worth a stay or even better a longer stay.

Home Away From Home! The staff is attentive and takes care of you like you're family. The place is very clean and close to everything. I'm definitely coming back.

Execellent Hostel. Very clean, nice location, and a great staff. Angie, Genevieve, Sarah, Gil, and Rhae made my day and so did the free breakfast. The manager Jeff was very kind and helpful. I thought Jeff and the staff were really restrained. Dave, who I think is the owner, was also very nice and he runs a great place, but he was sometimes testy with his staff. I will stay there again and look forward to my time in Tucson.

Staff was awfully rude, especially the manager From the time I checked in to the time I left I got treated poorly. I've stayed in dozens of hostels and this one was by far the worst.

The hostel is very clean. I paid for a private room for $38. The on duty person who greeted me as I came in was Elsie. She explained to me about the rules and showed me around. It is only closed at noon to 3 p.m. because the on duty person cleans the hostel. There is a big screen TV and DVD and movies. However, they have some permanent guests which are elderly but none of which seemed crazy. I was hoping to meet more backpackers but didn't. All in all, a very clean hostel with friendly staff.

Wow what a cozy artistic place and how practical located downtown where every twenty minutes you can hop on a free shuttle bus that rides around town for free. It stops right in front of the Hostel. I will be back next year. This place rocks -- very well worth a visit Tucson.

Men's shower room has no lock on the door. People kept walking in on me as I showered. I asked the on-duty person, Jeff, about this and he just shrugged his shoulders.

The people who work at this hostel really try to make it a positive experience-- they are always there and ready to help. The bathroom and kitchen are clean, and the kitchen has plenty of cooking supplies (pots and pans, spices, etc.) I also enjoyed the free internet and the daily newspaper. The buildings are renovated and very artistic.
What I didn't like: the neighborhood seems kind of dangerous. I had a private room in a building across from the main hostel and it was tiny with a very-creaky bed (granted, for $40 a night in a big city it's probably still a good deal). I was also concerned that there were NOT working smoke alarms in the bedroom or in the hallway.

Very good management and staff. From about a dozen hostels I have seen, this is one of the cleanest and friendliest. Common areas look well equipped, very clean and organized. The hostel is cleaned every day for few hours in the afternoon. In addition, staff are welcoming and work hard to assist, and this creates a nice community-like feeling.
Moreover, I stayed for about a week in the hostel dorms and security did not seem to be an issue for me.
The dorms, where I stayed, had about six beds and it can get somewhat "crowdy" when all the beds are occupied in a room. Moreover, there are some private rooms available for somewhat higher rate.
The hostel has wireless access as well as two PCs available to residents for Internet access. In addition, the hostel is only a five-minute walk from downtown Tucson.

I felt kind of uncomfortable at this hostel. The staff were older and seemed to live there. I was happy that I had only planned to stay there one night and was anxious to leave.

I just stayed here and have to say it felt like staying at a friend's home. I had a private room — there are shared bathrooms, but only a few people sharing and they have little skylights with sunlight streaming in. It's an eclectic little place — really great!

This was great. The staff are awesome, the hostel is clean and it is close to the bus station. Randy, Doug, Xavier and Peter are awesome, and they will make sure that you have a good time. It was great just being able to sit and relax at night watching movies and having great conversations. Thanks for the ice cream, Randy!

If you are looking for the best hostel in America, this is it. I hate to even use the word hostel because I felt as if I was home (with all the relatives over). The staff was the greatest, it's not just a job to them. Never, and I mean never, will you find a cleaner hostel than this one. We actually came back from our road trip a few days early just so we could relax at the Roadrunner. Thank you Randy, Xavier, and Douglas for the great waffles and company.
