Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, warm shower, good price Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, warm shower, good price. — Calum, Britain (2013-03-03)

Very friendly staff. The people like to help you in every case. The rooms are ok, they have TV and free internet access (with cable). The toilet is quite clean in the dormitory, the public one is for standing. The public room is great for meeting new people, there is wireless internet-access TV and DVD, but it is really cold. The location is very good, to Fuzimiao-Shopping-Street it is one minute by foot, Bus and Subway station can be reached by walk. — Manuel (2007-03-11)

Stayed in February 2007 during Chinese New Year Festival. It is a really good hostel with a great common area. Located in Fuzimiao district, it is also very central to many transportation links to tourist sites around Nanjing. The shared rooms were big with its own en-suite. Tidy, not super-clean bathrooms -- much better than 95% of Chinese hostels. Plenty of hot water. Dormitory rooms and facilities looked a little more rudimentary. Pay more for the rooms I reckon. The address is actually Pingjianfu Road 68, Fuzimiao District, Nanjing. It is located right next to the Pingjian Bridge. Directions (copied and pasted) below. The hostel is now located on 1. If you arrive by Train, Take No.1 Bus from Nanjing main station, get off at the last stop, then go down then across the street, then turn left, walk down until you see McDonald's at the corner, then make a right, go down about five minutes. You will see the hostel near a small bridge. it's better to give them a call! (taxi costs less than 23 RMB). If you get off the train from Nanjing West Station, please take No.16 Bus and Get off at ChangLe Lu stop, then ask a taxi to come the hostel, it only costs 7 RMB! 2. If you arrive by Long-Distance Bus,
Please take No.1 Bus to the last stop. then the same way as above
3. If you arrive by Airplane, Please take airport shuttle bus to Gu Lou Square, then you can changed to No.31 and get off at the last stop, then walking down across the road, then make a right, go down five minutes, you will see McDonald's at the corner, then make a left, you will see the hostel easily in five minutes. — Tim (2007-02-24)
It sounds like a great hostel, it almost seems like a shame that it's not there anymore. Last time I was there, it was covered in workmen who were quite happily ripping it to pieces. Oh well! — Nikolias (2006-05-16)

Well I was there in the summer, and it was amazing. Great staff, I met some real characters there, including a friend I'm still in touch with. There are random drawings and posters on the walls from people from all over the world, and a great big tattered guestbook. The setting is perfect, there is so much to see in the immediate vicinity including scenic gardens with performances and beautiful little boats you can go out on the river in at night. We got a lost a few times, but that's part of the fun. — Craig (2006-04-20)
I would likely push the rating up to 4 stars in the summer, but this place's shortcomings really come through in the winter. The people there were warm, but the place was ice-cold - freezing in the common area, and hot water?--Forget about it. Had to leave a day earlier to come back to life. But hey, if you take away my brush with hypothermia, not a bad place! — James Addeo (2006-02-10)
