This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Wiesbaden.

Wiesbaden, the capital of the state Hesse, is located in the southwest Germany, a little over thirty kilometres from the state's largest city Frankfurt. The city is known for its numerous hot springs and is in fact one of the oldest spa cities in Europe. With less than three hundred thousand inhabitants, Wiesbaden is not exactly among the largest German cities, however it offers quite some interesting attractions besides the obvious rich selection of spa facilities.

One of the top destinations is the hill Neroberg, which offers a visit to the Russian Orthodox Church and amazing views of the city. It can be reached by car, on foot, or with a special cable car you can pay to ride. Other popular tourist spots worth mentioning are Kurhaus and the Bowling Green Park; Heathens Wall; Theater Wiesbaden (Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden); and the Palace Square (Schloßplatz) with Town Hall, City Palace, and the Market Church.

If you're interested in visiting these places, it is a good idea to get yourself the Wiesbaden Tourist Card, which entitles you to rides with public transport within the city and to the Frankfurt airport, as well as discounts on various attractions, city tours, and souvenirs for a reasonable price. There are good bus connections with all city districts, so moving around is pleasant and fast.

The Wiesbaden hostel selection is very limited, but there are plenty of options in nearby Frankfurt, which can be easily reached with the S-Bahn.
