Hostels and hotels will be harder to come by, but since this town’s major industry is tourism, there is plenty of room to accommodate the influx of visitors. Figueres has a growing culinary scene – and a fantastic selection of locally-made wines. A car is recommended for visitors who hope to tour some of the region’s wineries.
After flying into the Girona/Costa Brava Airport, tourists can take a bus from the airport to the Girona train station, and ride the train the rest of the way to Figueres. There is also a train that runs from Barcelona to Girona and on to Figueres, for backpackers looking to reach their hostel here.
