Bratislava Albergues   "Hostel Blues is a big, newly renovated, modern hostel.
The Location
The hostel is in a good location, close enough to the historical centre of Bratislava to walk and not too far from the main train and bus stations. The hostel is located on one of the main roads leading to the centre so there is easy access to trams and taxis.
Rooms and Bathrooms
We stayed in a female dorm, which... "I stayed at this hostel last summer and at first I was a bit scared because no one spoke English and the building was old and seemed like an empty mental institution. But it turn out very clean, quiet, and people were really friendly and helpful. The only problem is that it is a bit far from city center. I think it is a good choice if you want a quiet and not expensive place" … "Ugly but...   "The Downtown Backpackers Hostel Bratislava is a fine institution. Since there are now multiple other hostels in Bratislava and price can be volatile. Sometimes they are even higher than in neighboring Vienna.
The hostel offers a restful nook yet it is central enough to be walking distance from everything (except the unpleasant bus depot). The hostel's location gives access to the pub scene... "Patio Hostel is very well located near the Bratislava town centre, where there are a variety of places to eat, a big supermarket, and sights to see. The hostel entrance is situated off the street through a driveway and courtyard but there is a brightly colored sign on the street just above the driveway that is easy to see. It's also not too far from the train station and easy to get to within... "I had a couple of the worst nights since I have been traveling in three months here, but that wasn't the hostel's fault. I had some idiot roomies who thought it was acceptable to come home at 5 in the morning and be talking loudly, laughing and joking and mucking around when others were trying to sleep (I did ask a few times if they could keep the noise down but they didn't). this went on for..."In an open letter to the travelling comrades...

Well that pretty much sums up a stay at Juraj's Hostel. Juraj is the proprietor, receptionist, tour guide, handyman, and life of the hostel. He goes out of his way to make your stay in Bratislava enjoyable, from station pickups/drop offs to guiding you to all the best places to see (and eat and... "The best single word to describe Gabriel's hostel is "unique." Gabriel is friendly enough but it appears his hostel is an old flat into which a number of bunk beds have been pushed. The DIY handiwork is probably safe, but looks scary and the style of decor could be summarised as eclectic. There are two showers - a normal sized one and a small one - try them both for a joke!
