The city skyline is marked by two high towers: the first one is the clock tower, near the City Hall palace and the second one is the famous "Ghirlandina"" (almost 80 mt) that has become the symbol of the city. The Cathedral of Modena is one the highest espressions of Romanesque art (masterpiece of Lanfranco and embellished by remarkables sculptures by Wiligelmo). Afterwards and for more than two centuries, Modena has been the Ducal capital of the Este family, after the loss of Ferrara. Modena is also famous for its wine (Lambrusco) and for motorcar racing "Ferrari" of Maranello.
