Just newly opened, in the middle of bustling Stone Town, Zenji Hotel welcomes guests for a relaxing stay or a drink on our rooftop. The rooftop offers a beautiful view over Stone Town and the harbor, especially during sunset. We provide free internet facility for our hotel guests!
With only 9 rooms Zenji Hotel offers the guests privacy and a time to rest, with books and games on the rooftop while enjoying a fresh juice, soda, and (spice) tea or espresso coffee. All rooms have a different atmosphere referring to the rich Zanzibar heritage and culture. Rooms have different prices, depending on your taste and choice (balcony, self-contained etc).
The breakfast is served on the rooftop and includes fresh juices and bread, homemade jam, egg of your choice, fruits and tea or espresso coffee.
The hotel is owned by a Zanzibarian-Dutch couple who try to integrate the best of cultures, with traditional Zanzibarian details (such as traditional Zanzibarian beds but Western size), friendly staff, real espresso coffee.
ZenjiHotel is part of the 'ZenjiZanzibar-projects' that aims to create direct or indirect income for rural local community by stimulating local entrepreneurship, encouraging tourists to participate in local tours and providing training on the job. Zenji Zanzibar works together with local organisations, NGO’s, private companies, educational institutions and enthusiastic and motivated persons.

Breakfast was good, small selection but good quality. Small, cosy atmosphere, staff were friendly and helpful. Free wifi connection, PC and bookshelf on rooftop. Air-conditioning in room, mosquito net, towels, soap, tea and hot water.

Cute rooms, and VERY close to the ferry. The opposite end of Stone Town from the downtown touristy area, but it's an easy walk. Zenji is near the water and Forodhani Gardens/market.

It is a beautiful little hotel with lovingly arranged rooms. I loved the flowers on the bed and the towels arranged in forms of birds or fish. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made the short stay like being with friends. I loved it and will coem back next year!
