Barrydale is one of the friendliest towns in the world, I have never met so many people that just creeped into my heart. Moving away was one of the hardest things to do ever. The restuaraunts in Barrydale serve amazing dishes, like Gemma Melville said 'Bistro blues' always calms a person down after a long day/trip. If you pass through barrydale in the evenings, pop around to bistro-- you will never want to leave.
If you visit Barrydale make sure you go to the restaraunt/bar 'Bistro Blues'. It's a great night out.
Hi. I was in Camps Bay just a couple of weeks ago. My family and I come from Norway, but my mom got a job offering in Camps Bay, so she's been there since February 04. Camps Bay is magical! Go to Sinful... they have the best ice cream in the world. And Baraza is a cozy pub. And Codfather has the best sushi ever. And if you are in for a treat, go to Bayside Cafe... The king prawns are dangerously tasty! I love Camps Bay, and I'll always love it... Re-visiting in december 05 *woho*.
I think Muizenberg is a great town with lots to do. All my family liked it and not too far away is Cape Town with even more to do.
Stellenbosch is a very nice city - everyone should visit it.
This is truly the gem of the Little Karoo, the weather is amazing year round. Go for a swim in the Tradouws Pass if you happen to be there in summer. My family are very lucky to live in Barrydale although I'm abroad, coming back for a holiday soon. Say hello to Dereck de Villiers at the Country Pumpkin, they do an amazing Sunday lunch. And wines from the local winery are awesome. Accommodation is really cheap in Barrydale and there are so many things to keep you busy. Do yourself a favour and visit Barrydale.
