The youth hostel is located near the "Place des Heroes", which is near the tourist office. At the tourist office, they will give you a map to the hostel. It is a fairly small town, so it is possible to walk around to the sites and there are several bakeries, postcard shops, and cafes nearby.
The building is old, but the rooms are newly painted, and there is a small bathroom and clean shower (separate) on each floor. The water tap in the shower is a continuous spray, which is rare, since most hostels have taps that you have to keep pressing every minute. It is very clean and the hot water is actually hot.
There is a nice view of the town, although the youth hostel itself is quite quiet and the common room is often empty. There is a sink in the bedrooms and it is sometimes possible to have your own room. There are no lockers to keep valuables, however the rooms lock so you can leave things there if you are alone. The hallways are often dark (there are signs posted everywhere saying to turn off the lights in order to conserve energy). Overall, it is a safe, clean, yet quiet hostel.
