4   Great stuff, amazing stay, bad bedbugs Had awesome time there! Alessandro showed us around and was so funny. Also showed us how to paint masks and made for us unique ones also, had gelato with us and told about Venice traditions. Was amazing and gave our trip to Venice magical touch. Breakfast was also very good for 2 euros -- true cafe latte and warm croissant. Room was tidy and location great. We were upgraded for better room for free! In morning noticed 2-4 weird small bumps on legs and hands -- they sure need to get rid of those bugs.  , age 25, EST&LV ()
1   BEDBUGS!!! Bad services and dirty hostel! BEDBUGS!!! DO NOT STAY in this hostel dorm room. We stayed here early Sept. MANY bedbugs claws down from the top of the wooden beams at night in 4 beds dorm. My boyfriend had lots of bug bites. Lucky he spotted them and woke us up. There were nobody in the reception, we stayed up to clean our backpacks. We left the room without a place to sleep for 1 whole night. Some bugs even went into our backpacks. The next morning we spent over 20euros dry clean everything including our backpacks. We told the manager, we requested a refund because we did not stay in the room at all! Then the boss accused us we brought the bloody bedbugs to their hostel. After long dispute they only refunded 20euro!! It seems that they have not or even tried to fix the bedbugs issues. There are other issues in the hostel. I have been more than 50+ hostels, Ai Boteri is the worst hostel!! Rip off!!!  , Australia ()
3   Walker's Choice The hostel is in a good position -- near the water bus, a 5-minute walk to Rialto bridge, and during the week there is a open-air fish and produce market right down the street and across a small bridge, along with some vibrant nightlife in the nearby campo. Everyone who was staying at the hostel seemed pretty cool (which was good because the same key opened all of the room doors), and the manager was helpful. Good luck with the wifi -- with a third-floor room I had to lean out of my window and use one of the restaurant's networks. The rooms and the shared spaces were clean, and check-in/check-out went smoothly. If you're traveling alone on a budget and want to walk everywhere (public transport in Venice is expensive) it's my opinion that Ai Boteri is a good option.  , age 30, USA ()
