Cheap accommodation An ok hostel. So cheap compared to others i stayed in. I was there for two nights, and it had a good location, easy to stumble back to after a few too many chupitos! Seemed clean enough, and we discovered a wireless internet network. Bad points -- no kitchen and food there was so expensive! also, the rooms were packed with so many beds that it was a little impersonal. lack of a common room also meant that there was just not really an atmosphere in the place. i didn't chat to one single other person in my stay there, which is very unusual when backpacking! But overall a good hostel, friendly staff, english wasn't great but they were willing to give their time to show you where things were. i would go back, especially at such a cheap price! — Alice , Glasgow (2007-09-14)

Very, very nice hostel. — John (2006-05-03)

It's an ok hostel. Excellent location, not too hard to get to by bus from the bus station via regular public buses (#4). The rooms were too large with 20 beds. Having no kitchen was weird but they did have a microwave so you can make do with that. The showers were hot and there are lots of showers just downstairs so it's no problemo! They did serve a half-decent breakfast for 2 euros. It has the potential to be social but it was quiet when I stayed there. It has cheap Internet, too (1 euro per hr). The staff were nice and helpful, friendly, etc. I'm told it gets very busy on the weekends, as there aren't a lot of hostels here, so book ahead for Friday-Saturday nights. — Ollie (2005-11-24)
The worst hostel I've ever been to. The bathroom was so small and served too many people, and it was very dirty. But the staff were nice. — Mónica (2005-03-30)

Not the worst hostel I've stayed in, but DEFINITELY not the best. It had about as much atmosphere as a doctor's waiting room. The rooms were too large (20 beds) and were often filled with loud Spanish kids who thought that it was okay to come back at 4 a.m. and turn all the lights on. On the plus side, it was well located and had 24-hour reception. But the rooms were closed for cleaning between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. — Rebecca (2004-10-01)
Worst hostel ever. There's no kitchen, no breakfast, overcrowded rooms, decadent bathrooms and uncomfortable beds. — Rui (2004-09-29)
This was my first hostel experience, and judging by the ones I've stayed in since, I have to say it wasn't that great. The shower had no hot water, and at least two other people (male and female) experienced the same problem. People were coming in and out of the dorm all night, making noise and keeping everyone awake. On the other hand, it did let me meet people I wouldn't have met otherwise, so that was good. — Yekaterina (2004-08-06)

The hostel is in a good location, just a few minutes from the center. It doesn't have lockers, but it seemed to be secure. The bedrooms are mixed and there is just one bathroom for 20 people. The other bathrooms are on another floor so it's not very practical. But the beds are comfortable. The man was very kind when I phoned to make a reservation, but once I arrived he wasn't very friendly. You have to pay separate for the breakfast and it's a better idea to eat in the street anyway because the breakfast is very poor. They don't have a kitchen, a common area, or internet access. — Lisbe (2004-05-27)

Right know I am stayng at Salamanca Youth Hostel. This is a very friendly place. Nice people and nice staff, very polite and helpful. The rooms are nice, so clean like the bathrooms. I am happy to be here. Salamanca is wonderful. — Nuno Santos (2003-12-16)
The hostel from Hell. This place sucked. Now, we've been to quite a few hostels, but we never saw anything as bad as this. The staff are all very unfriendly. The location is not horrible, but could be better. They have NO KITCHEN, which we found unbelievable, no fridge, no nothing. They lock you out from 12:00-17:00, unless you're there on a day that they decide to bug-bomb the place and they kick you out from ten in the morning until nine at night. Then when you get back they tell you what they had really been doing and that they took your food that you had left in the room, but then they lost it. They wake you up every morning by piped music through the ceiling before they kick you out. Overall, the place was a nightmare. — Ender (2003-08-13)
