super location, nice staff. but very, very, very loud and very F**k music till 3 o'clock in the morning! but its not a real hostel, it's only a pub with dorms. Durty Nellys Inn in Amsterdam was the first hostel i stayed who the bed was made every day great! There's no room for my backpack after we check out so we have to go to the station and rent a looker -- in other hostels is this not really a problem! — Manu , Austria (2007-04-03) very poor hostel, even though is centrally located, the price is not worth at all any medium expectation! very poor dorms and toilets, poor cleaning, the pub downstairs is very noisy till late hours! the staff is ok. Breakfast was ok, other food cheap, linen was changed for us every day and got some nice clean towels for the showers which weren't great but did the job!! I'd stay here again! — Annie (2006-01-27) I stayed 5 nights here. This hostel is really bad if you want a place to rest after a hard day. Here you'll find big noisy dorms, full of drunken people smoking in front of your face. I've even seen some people sniffing cocaine. The bar (located downstairs) and the street (the entrance to the red light district) are very noisy until 3 in the morning. So don't expect to sleep before 4 a.m. on the weekends.
Also, the hostel doesn't have common areas and a kitchen. The breakfast is poor (tea or coffee, some bread, an egg and cheese). The bathroom and showers are clean, but normally there isn't hot water and the pressure is low. The best thing about this hostel is that it is excellently located, but you should know where you are going. — Ivan GS (2005-09-05) I had a fine time at Durty Nelly's. It was basically clean, and even though lots of people are in each room it's certainly not bad. For people who hate weed, first of all you're in the wrong city because you know it's everywhere, but it's acceptable to smoke it in the room as long as other people are generally cool with it. You're located literally 2 minutes from the Red Light District and restaurants, shops etc. The stairs are really funky, anyone who's stayed there knows what I'm talking about, and coming up them after getting drunk is definitely an adventure. :). The bar downstairs is great. It's not super cheap but it's a fun place with darts, pool and foosball with TVs showing sports all the time. — Brett (2005-08-11) A great bar, great food and an excellent base to start your Dam experience. We started our European trip from here, and I found the hostel had everything I needed--good food (reasonably priced, too) nice-ish rooms, and a good bar, too! (That's essential!) Don't mind other people? This is the place for you if you want to meet some, too! Nice, friendly and helpful staff (everyone I encountered spoke English pretty well). Overall, the only complaint I had to make was a mild one: the bathrooms were not so great, they were a little bit dirty and didn't really seem to be cleaned very often! But if all you are there for is a joint then it doesn't really matter! In my opinion, it's a good hostel. If you are going to Amsterdam and you want a central location, nice surroundings, helpful staff and a good bar, come here! — Happy Customer! (2004-07-17) This place rocks. I don't think I saw that much nudity in the nearby red-light district. Although, two of the girls especially were HOT, so I didn't mind! One night I watched a totally, and very drunk naked girl giving her boyfriend head. THAT'S something for the postcards home.
