The Hostelz.com Review
This hostel is located on a working farm a few miles from the town of Slane and is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Dublin. It's ownen and operated by the loveliest people that you could meet and the hostel is so clean that you could eat from the floors.
There are good kitchen facilities with gas burners and ovens and ample fridge space. The TV room has a DVD player with a selection of movies available and even a Playstation. There are lots of books available that explain the sites of the area that include the Neolithic Newgrange tombs, the ruins of Slane Abbey, Monasterboise and Slane Castle.
The owners offer a pickup service from the town centre if you travel by bus and have bicycle hire available if required.

Very quiet and accommodating We only stayed one night - but it was a great night. The kitchen was great, the room had very good beds, and the countryside is beautiful. Our best experience -- we asked about a tour of Hill of Slane, we were told to go into town to the Pub and ask for Mike and he would take us there. That was a hard request to just walk in a new environment and ask for Mike -- but we did and he was there. He put us into his car and took us on a complete tour of Slane and its beginning showing us through a field by the highway the first castle built there by the Flemings and then onto the current Slane Castle, then into town and showed us the building of the town, as well and the Hill of Slane. He was just full of info that made our trip such a wonderful experience. This tour took us back to the 400s in the beginning stages of Christianity in Ireland. It was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. — Arlene from Tennessee , United States (2008-09-07)

This place rocks! More of a family venue since it is out of town. Very quiet. — Jack , USA (2007-05-05)
