1 The hostel was extremely dirty!
Very old building with not clean environment. Locating far away from the metro and main bus station. Have to spend more money on going by taxi. Not secure enough, the staff there even told me she also ever lost money in the hostel. Moreover, the boss of the hostel is not a good guy. He may refuse your money and ask you to leave at any time if he is in a bad mood. It is the worst hostel I have ever met by now! The toilet on the third floor didn't work, so it was a pain having to walk downstairs to use the restroom. Also, the signs posted around the hostel were pretty intense. The owner look like a homeless, he also had a very arrogant attitude!

5 This place is fantastic
This hostel has such a great atmosphere with great host Charles and wonderful staff. The facilities are fantastic with more movies you can shake a stick at, pool room, table football, xbox, and free fast internet. The free breakfast is great and the two cats (one a kitten) and dog Sausage make this a really homey place to stay in Santiago. Town is a short walk, you can get the most incredible hot dogs from the stalls on Republica (just around the corner) and the supermarket is five minutes away, next to a great Pizza place. (Cheap and great friendly staff.) This hostel is a winner!

4 Great space and friendly people
Chile was my first South American destination and I must admit I was a little apprehensive on arrival. But as soon as we stepped inside Hostel Sammy we were greeted by friendly faces. They have an excellent common space and spaghetti night is a winner. We stayed eight nights in Santiago, all at Sammy. There were a few long term stayers and a lot of people returning for a subsequent stay, which says something. Facilities were good, and from what I hear very good for Santiago. A very clean place to stay with great staff.
