House Santiago in Santiago … I had the great pleasure of staying at the Santiago Hostel in November 2006.
It was the highlight on my around the world trip, I was very sad that I had not allowed more time in Santiago. The lovely lady Grace who is a wonderful host, with loads of local information, made my stay extra special.
Happy House Hostel in Santiago … Beautiful bulding with beautiful staff. Nice place to hang around for a few days. Nice place for a backpackers who like to have the feeling of being in a luxury hotel.
Luz Azul Hostel in Santiago … The chill out balcony complete with barbecue and the really comfy beds make this place stand out as one of the best hostels so far in Chile. Breakfast includes eggs and good bread.

Bellavista Hostel in Santiago … I've done a lot of traveling through Santiago, and I've stayed at this hostel three times, each time loved it! The staff is very friendly, helpful with directions, getting taxis, or giving ideas of things to do. I love the patio on the roof -- great for grilling out with the other travelers, enjoying the sunset, or having a nice tea in the morning.
Bellavista Hostel in Santiago … Fantastic hostel, really laid back and cosy... great staff, friendly atmosphere, and all the comforts of home!
House Santiago in Santiago … Excellent staff, really friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere; it felt like a home rather than a hostel. The building is an older style but I found it spotlessly clean, a great place!
Refugio Aleman - Ski Hostel in Farellones … We love these guys! They got us out of a fix with another hostel and we haven't looked back yet. It's out of season and we may be the only two guests in this huge hostel, but the atmosphere is warm, just like the log fire burning in the lounge. The staff are ever so friendly and helpful, and by God can they cook! Drop by.
Happy House Hostel in Santiago … I have been travelling for over two months now, and Happy House is the most comfortable and friendly hostel so far. The staff are warm, wonderful people. This is such a beautiful house. I feel so lucky to have found it. Thank you for all your help. Everything is just perfect.
Ecohostel in Santiago … Stayed at the Eco Hostel for one night only, and it was great -- the people who run it are really friendly and helpful, and the hostel itself is well situated and impeccably clean.
Hostal de Sammy in Santiago … This hostel has such a great atmosphere with great host Charles and wonderful staff. The facilities are fantastic with more movies you can shake a stick at, pool room, table football, xbox, and free fast internet. The free breakfast is great and the two cats (one a kitten) and dog Sausage make this a really homey place to stay in Santiago. Town is a short walk, you can get the most incredible hot dogs from the stalls on Republica (just around the corner) and the supermarket is five minutes away, next to a great Pizza place. (Cheap and great friendly staff.) This hostel is a winner!
