Godzilla's is pretty easy to get to from the main train station, as it is on a short hop on the metro. When you get off the metro turn left at the main exit, and turn left again at pizza hut on the corner, then follow the lane all the way to the top through a little garden area. When you get the top turn left again and you should see a restaurant at the bottom of a big pink building in front of you – the hostel is located on the right hand side of this building. Without directions you might walk on past the entrance as there is only a small green sign on the door.
The area the hostel is located in is pretty clean and safe, and there is a supermarket around the corner for cheap food/drink. Inside the hostel is pretty clean and modern and there is a buzzer entry to make you feel secure. The reception is open 9am until 10pm, so there should always be someone there to check you in. One word of warning if you do arrive early, you'll have to wait until 1pm to check in, and there aren't any lockers to store you backpack while you kill some time. Also they do not accept credit cards so you'll have to draw some cash out before you can get into you room, so best to do it before you arrive.
It is probably best to pre-book for this hostel as it gets quite busy and when we arrived people were sleeping in the TV room. We had a double room booked for a couple of nights and it was one of the nicest rooms we had on our travels. Equipped with modern furniture, spacious and sheets were also included. There are also kitchens, showers and toilets on each floor, one for each side of the building and all were kept extremely clean. One problem was that the door on the shower on our side of the building didn't close properly, let alone lock.
Overall this is a pretty decent hostel to stay in while visiting Moscow. One thing to watch out for, if you are registering your visa or buying train tickets from the staff expect to pay for it. They will charge for registering your visa unlike some other hostels and you will pay about £15 on top of the cost of your train tickets if you book through the hostel (although this will save you a bit of time when trying to find someone who speaks English at the ticket outlets). It is also more like a twenty five minute walk to red square so you'll probably need to use the metro more than some other places.
