Oldhouse Hostel is one of the first hostels you get to once you enter the old town of Tallinn. It is very convenient to get to from either of the ferry ports. From the Silja, Viking, or Nordic Jet Lines you need only to walk on the main road until you get to the monument and make a left turn onto Uus street in old town. It is the first hostel on the left. From the Linda Lines, walk straight from the ferry into old town and it is on your left.
It is one of the more finely decorated hostels we have stayed at and it feels very homelike. If you are looking for a party atmosphere, this is not the hostel for you. However, if you are looking for a nice clean place at an affordable rate, this is a nice place to stay.
This hostel collaborates with a guesthouse next door. The friendly and professional staff can assist you with accommodations and with details such as tour information. They are kind enough to help prospective guests find other hostels when there are no vacancies here. Accommodations include free internet access, luggage storage that is not locked up (but the staff are always present), kitchen, twenty-four-hour check in. If you want breakfast, you can eat at the guesthouse next door run by the same company for a nominal fee.
There are no laundry services so if you must, you can do them at the Old Town Hostel just a half a block down (only washing machine) or at a paid laundry service by the Old Town Hostel -- but you must leave your laundry for a few days and pick it up later. Otherwise, there is a laundromat fifteen minutes away.
