The Hostelz.com Review
Oldhouse Hostel is one of the first hostels you get to once you enter the old town of Tallinn. It is very convenient to get to from either of the ferry ports. From the Silja, Viking, or Nordic Jet Lines you need only to walk on the main road until you get to the monument and make a left turn onto Uus street in old town. It is the first hostel on the left. From the Linda Lines, walk straight from the ferry into old town and it is on your left.

It is one of the more finely decorated hostels we have stayed at and it feels very homelike. If you are looking for a party atmosphere, this is not the hostel for you. However, if you are looking for a nice clean place at an affordable rate, this is a nice place to stay.

This hostel collaborates with a guesthouse next door. The friendly and professional staff can assist you with accommodations and with details such as tour information. They are kind enough to help prospective guests find other hostels when there are no vacancies here. Accommodations include free internet access, luggage storage that is not locked up (but the staff are always present), kitchen, twenty-four-hour check in. If you want breakfast, you can eat at the guesthouse next door run by the same company for a nominal fee.

There are no laundry services so if you must, you can do them at the Old Town Hostel just a half a block down (only washing machine) or at a paid laundry service by the Old Town Hostel -- but you must leave your laundry for a few days and pick it up later. Otherwise, there is a laundromat fifteen minutes away.

5 Best Place I've ever stayed
I considered myself lucky to have found a hostel like this. The location is perfect in relation to the rest of the old town, and other parts of the city. It is especially easy to find if you are coming over on the ferry from Helsinki. They have two buildings, 22 and 26 Uus street, both are very very nice. Staff were friendly, spoke great English, and were helpful with random questions. The place was extremely clean, beds were comfy, and overall it was great. Breakfast was typical hostel food. This place was great, and Tallinn is an amazing city.

5 A very comfortable hostel with a definite Hotel feel! Comfy beds, very helpful staff (who booked us a taxi on departure no problem), free Internet, underfloor heating in bathrooms!

5 This is a really nice hostel. It feels more like a guest house than a hostel, and had just been done up. The beds in the rooms are quite narrow, but all the rooms seem to have a lot of thought put into them. There is a good kitchen and lounge. It's location is fab, right in the old town, so it is really convenient. I would definitely recommend it.

4 We had a great experience here. The staff speaks English and tries to be as helpful as possible. The location cannot be beat; that is to say it's inside the walls of Old Town. Bathrooms are a little small, but clean. Ours were not en suite, so we shared with the floor. Rooms are cozy.

5 I stayed in this hostel during Easter 2005. It has an absolutely friendly staff, it's newly refurbished, very nicely decorated and right in the old town. Great value for the money!! Highly recommended!
