• From the Liberia airport, it is an easy 2 hour drive to Samara. When you exit the Liberia airport, you turn right on the principal road. Drive south to Nicoya. From Nicoya take route 150 to Samara approximately 38 km / 24 miles. Please note that roads are not always well marked (okay, seldom marked) with route numbers, so look for signs with city/town names. About 20 minutes past Nicoya, you will start to see our hotel signs. Follow those in towards Samara. The Hotel Playa Samara is located at the west side of the soccer field, Samara Center.
• From San Jose Airport, Drive north on the Panamerican/Interamerican Highway 1. You can either stay on the Panamerican/Hwy 1 or take the new Hwy 27. We recommend Hwy 27. You can take that up to Caldera/Puntarenas area where it ends. Then you will get back on the Panamerican/Hwy1 to the junction with route 18 (just past Limonal). Continue there to river Tempisque and cross the bridge 'La Amistad' or Puente Tempisque. Continue on to Nicoya. From Nicoya take route 150 to Samara approximately 38 km / 24 miles.
