Hostelz.com's Review
This is a great hostel. It's small and friendly, and has only recently opened. There are only three shared dorm rooms which gives the hostel an intimate and friendly atmosphere - there's a good chance you'll get to meet everyone who is staying at the hostel.

The toilets and showers aren't spotless but are reasonably clean. The shower has hot water. The bedrooms are spacious and clean. At least one of the bedrooms has extremely squeaky floorboards, which makes it difficult not to wake up others if you're getting in late or leaving early.

The kitchen is small and has basic facilities. Free tea and coffee are available 24 hours. A free breakfast (in the form of slices of bread that you can toast and jam) is provided. There is a small lounge area with tv and free internet (only one computer). There's also a CD player where you can play your own music. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak English and are happy to provide recommendations on other places to visit and stay in Chile.
The hostel is located in Providencia which is a fun part of Santiago. It is only a few minutes walk from Manuel Montt Metro Station. The hostel itself is hard to spot from the street - there are no big signs announcing the hostel's presence - only a small notice on the wall.

5   Best and safe location with free Wi-Fi House Santiago is best located in Santiago, convenient, safe and secure. You can find everything you need by five-minute walk (Metro, Supermarket). Familiar atmosphere. Grace is wonderful and helps you in every question. Wi-Fi internet access for free -- you won't find in any other place in Santiago. Perfect place to stay in Santiago -- my next stay will be there too.  , Gemany ()
4  Santiago Hostel is in a very convenient, safe, and secure location. The company that flows in and out provides a fun, communal atmosphere. It's a pretty no-frills hostel, but provides everything you'll need during a short stay in Santiago.  ()
5  I had the great pleasure of staying at the Santiago Hostel in November 2006. It was the highlight on my around the world trip, I was very sad that I had not allowed more time in Santiago. The lovely lady Grace who is a wonderful host, with loads of local information, made my stay extra special.  ()
5  This is a fantastic place, with a great location, excellent hot showers, and very friendly people. Thanks to all the staff — muchas gracias!!!  ()
5  Excellent staff, really friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere; it felt like a home rather than a hostel. The building is an older style but I found it spotlessly clean, a great place!  ()
5  This is a nice place — friendly people in a happy house. Perfect! It also serves fabulous toast.  ()
5  What a great hostel, small and friendly. It has cool areas to chill and play. Eduardo and Graciela have done a great job making me feel comfortable. Thanks a million...from the crazy Irishman!!!  ()
1  I had a horrible stay. Don't ever go here. They don't clean the bathrooms. Just look at the pictures.  ()
