The Centro Internacional is a very new-looking and beautifully-maintained hostel on Gran Canaria. It is situated on a beautiful, rocky beach in a small town called Pozo Izquierdo. Reception is very friendly and the beds are sparkling clean and comfortable, with panoramic ocean views from all of the windows. There is also a common room with a TV, VCR, and lots of sofas, books, etc. The bathroom facilities are also spotless and sufficient in number. There are, all told, 8 rooms with about 8 beds each. There is internet for 3 euro/hour and no kitchen facilities.
The hostel is obviously also a windsurfing base, with equipment for rental and available instruction. It also has a nice swimming pool for guests and non-guests, however those who are guests at the hostel still must drop a few euros for a sun-chair.
It was an extremely nice hostel, but in the off-season (February) I was the only guest. To get there from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, take any bus to the south of the island and get off in Vecindario or Doctoral. Ask the bus driver for local bus times to Pozo Izquiero from there. After about 7pm, there are no buses to/from Pozo Izquierdo and you must catch a cab for 3-4 euro. Buses run every 2 hours or so. There are only two restaurants near the hostel and maybe as many corner shops.
