1 The Hostel is really nice but the owner is a real hard-headed guy. He is totally not interested to help the people. The other staff are really nice and always pleased to help the guests. It is such a nice building. Mr. Schmidt, please turn to help the visitors and don't kick them out.

4 The hostel is in my opinion the nicest in Germany. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the nice building and landscape. The rooms are a little on the small side but they were clean and well kept. The staff was amazing. I stayed during the summer of 05' and met very intelligent and kind CV workers. The only complaint I have is towards the couple who run the Hostel. I believe they are the Schmidts. They are very rude and a little out of reality. I believe the workers are sometimes verbally abused by them. There are a lot of kid groups who rent out the hostel. They were for the most part supervised and kept under control. The breakfast is great, although you are asked to provide name in order to be served which makes no sense because the food is included and no one can enter the hostel in the morning time. The location is not really out of the way; it is a small town after all. Very close to bus line, internet cafe and shopping centers. Be sure to show up on time or else you will be left alone in the lobby for hours. Hope this helped. Have a great trip.

3 I stayed here in Jan 2006. This hostel is a bit isolated in a suburb (Allmannsdorf) a distance from central Konstanz (15min by bus and a further 10 min walk). Distance and isolation aside, it is situated on the edge of the lake - accomodation is in either a water tower section or a new purpose built facility attached. Very clean and modern, pleasant reception. I suspect mainly caters for school groups and was a bit sterile in winter. I also suspect fairly noisy when busy.
