2  Not that great Price is $10 US for tent site which is field with horses present. Fantastic view but could do without the animal's contribution to nature. Hostel is a good five miles outside of town on a country road so not too easy to get to. Pit bathroom with cold well water. They do provide a garden bucket with sprinkler that you can put water heated on your camping stove for a makeshift shower. No mention of access to shower or facilities in hostel for fee or otherwise. The common area is a damp three sided shelter with corrugated fiberglass roofing. Ok for dry season but not too great for the wet weather in Alaska this summer.  , Swiss ()
4  Very beautiful surroundings Beautiful surroundings, wonderful little cabins!! Fantastic walk to the beach! One BIG prob -- the bathroom, which is located in the hostel. I could not even take a shower because it was so disgusting. They need to work on it!! It would make everything so much better.  , US ()
5  I loved it here, mostly because of the people. Normally I would think I just got lucky on the timing, but most of the great folks I met actually live here for the whole summer. Good times! The price of tent camping has gone up from $6 to $10 (a little steep).  ()
4  The host, Maasi, is a very nice lady, quite knowledgeable about the surroundings. There are lots of friendly folks around, of different ages, from 30 to 50 and 60. The cabin we stayed in ($65 a night) had a loft and a twin bed. It was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was inside the cabin, and had a propane stove. (Propane stoves cook faster than electric stoves). There was no running water, but there was a 2-gallon (8-liter) plastic container inside the cabin, so that took care of that. (But washing dishes without running water is a pain! Also, the pots and pans could have been better. Stainless steel pans are the best for hostels. The non-stick ones are usually badly scraped and unfit for use.) We had to use the bathroom in the main hostel, and that wasn't really fun. The bathrooms need re-doing, though they are usable. The farm is a real farm, with horses, roosters, hens, etc. Also, there's a strawberry patch. The Homer Spit is about five minutes away by car from the hostel. So, the location of the hostel is good! Overall, it's a pretty decent place, and you get to live on an actual farm. I would recommend it.  ()
3  The hostel's location was excellent, and the place itself is just awe- inspiring. However, more attention could be paid to cleanliness, and some money should be sunk into the hostel. All in all, the cheap prices make the Seaside Farm a sure bet for your Alaska experience.  ()
4  Very laid back and great views from camp sites.  ()
