Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
5  Well this is one luxury hostal. It has all the right furniture for its mountainous setting looking opposite an astounding view of the Gredos. It can be a mission to go there and a mission to go anywhere else due to the Spanish local transportation being one bus a day in either direction. So you cannot move down the valley without walking or else have to bus it back to Ávila for buses out. Saying that the rooms are two beds full, with shower and toilet and beautiful rooms to eat and laze about it in. There is pool for the summer and basketball courts etc. Book for the winter with the snowfall as this is a particularly busy season. There didnt appear to be meals on offer in low season and breakfast is served at an unusually late time. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful and speak fluent English, and the scenery is incredible. It is not so much mountains as strange gigantic boulders sitting on the surface. Off season the price is around 12 euros which is grand for such a warm, clean and freshair filled little hostal. However I wouldnt make a detour again unless I was absolutely pineing for boulders!!!  , UK ()
