The Hostelz.com Review
Internationally recognized as one of the nicest hostels in Europe on the HI circuit, this place is far from undiscovered and reservations are a must during the high season. The location is perfect, easy to find, and mere blocks from the Mezquita. The rooms are very clean, large and comfortable with bunk beds, A/C, lots of windows and large private baths. Perhaps the best feature of this hostel is the common areas, inside and outside. People congregate to swap travel stories and tips outside on the picnic tables, or inside in the internet café or cafeteria. Also available are washers and dryers, public phones and vending machines. Meals are included, but eating elsewhere is recommended, as the food is less than extraordinary.

Really well located and clean hostel. They have private double rooms with bathrooms (no dorms). And in terms of the food -- I think the HI is trying to improve their image. We had dinner at the hostel and it was really good and restaurant-like! They serve you in a restaurant part and it is not canteen style. And of course the price was excellent (3 euros for a main). The only issue, like with all YHA/HIs is the school groups and that slight clinical feel. But all in all, this was a well run hostel and a good choice. — Sarah , Canada (2007-04-24)

Found it wasn't very hostel-like -- more like a hostal. No atmosphere and no common areas when we stayed, so I'm not sure what the reviewer was talking about. The staff were not overly nice too. Price and rooms are good though, as is breakfast and location. — funkz (2006-09-13)

Just good. The hostel is in an excellent location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hostel is clean, organized and has excellent facilities. But I found the hostel lacked atmosphere. It is very large, and also caters for school groups and conferences. The kitchen is not for guest use, but the breakfast (included in the price) is good. — Elly (2005-11-18)

My opinion is that it is very good. I stayed two days and everything was correct. There is a washing machine service. — Laura N. (2005-11-07)

The hostel is so nice! The personnel are helpful and very friendly! We all ate here and everything is fit to eat. There is air-conditioning, but they go to bed very early so you can't enjoy the night and make the most of mood in the hostel. — group (2005-08-15)

Amazing! Great location, beautiful courtyard, lots of Internet access, good breakfast and very relaxed. Our room was so great we went back to the reception desk to make sure that there hadn't been a mistake in giving us a private suite (same price as a larger one). Only downside was that there were several big groups of younger persons. Probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at in my travels. — Camping Queen (2005-06-02)

Actually there's nothing to complain about. It's a clean, modern hostel and very centrally located. The staff spoke English and we were allowed to cancel one night even through we had a reservation for it. But it's a real quiet place. If you aim to get to know people, don't go here. If you decide to go here: Don't trust the directions given above — just walk from the coach or train station. — Franziska (2005-04-08)

The hostel is right in the old town of Cordoba. It has a courtyard inside with benches to sit down and a little garden. It's nice to see some Moorish influence!! The place is clean and has friendly staff. — Christian (2005-03-17)

This hostel rocks. It's clean and has nice rooms and bathrooms. It has a spacious courtyard, a cafeteria and an Internet cafe. It's centrally located, just a three-minute walk to the Mosque (La Mezquita). No complaints whatsoever!! — Vivian (2004-10-27)

The staff at this hostel were unfriendly and not very helpful!! There were hundreds of school kids running around and screaming. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and there were four people in my room. It was nice to have a bathroom in the room, and I have to say the breakfast was good, but again the staff was very irritable!! But the location was great, and it was easy to find! I won't be going here again, but for one night it is okay, and it is well-priced for young travelers. But it was the worst hostel I stayed in out of the whole Andalucia area. — Tara (2004-05-25)

Fantastic location! The staff are very helpful and friendly. It's
not far from bus stop that will take you to the bus/train stations. — Kat (2004-04-29)

It's perfectly clean, the staff are fairly friendly. It has an internet cafe, air conditioning, and it's in the city center. On the other hand, the mattresses are very poor quality, it's a bit far from the bus station. Overall it's excellent. — Gio10 (2003-09-06)
