Hobart is the largest city in Tasmania and the second oldest city in Australia. It is towards the southern end of the island along the coast. However, because Hobart is so small, businesses tend to shut down around 5 PM.

Every Saturday, the famous Salamanca Market offers many unique gifts, tasty foods, and performances by local buskers. Tasmania is known for having the best fudge, cheese, and seafood in Australia. Many great samples can be found at the market with passionate locals more than willing to tell its history. Be sure to also make sometime to take a river cruise down to the Cadbury Chocolate Factory and/or a tour of the Cascade Brewery.
