• By Bus:
• From Tietê Bus terminal in São Paulo or from Guarulhos International Airport, take the bus to the city of São Sebastião (on average 3,5 hours driving) and hop off in Ilhabela´s ferry boat. (the company name are Litorânea and Pássaro Marrom)
• Leaving the ferry, follow the sidewalk (which will make a left turn) for about 100m. You can take the city bus to the following destinations:
• • Vila
• • Vila (direto)
• • Armação
• The trip takes approximately 30 minutes and costs R$ 4 (only cash paid directly to the driver).
• Hop off at Vila, in front of the church, walk one block straight forward on the main street and turn right at Rua São Benedito. Walk until the end of this street (1 minute). The Hostel da Vila is located at number 202, down the street, just after a short the bridge, on the right side.
• By Car:
• Leaving the ferry boat, go straight and turn left at the roundabout, then you will see signs indicating 'Pereque' and 'Vila'. Go straight for 7km. When you see the Catholic church (blue and white) at your right hand side, take the Church Street, follow it (it will make a left turn) to the cross with Sao Benedito street. Take a right and Hostel da Vila is located at number 202, down the street, after a short bridge, on the right side. Follow the road up and we'll be waiting for you at the reception!
• Ferry Boat:
• To get in Ilhabela, you must take the ferry boat from São Sebastião that takes around 20 minutes. The ferry leaves, both ways, every half an hour from 5am to 24pm and every hour from 24pm to 5am.
• Pedestrians do not pay, while for cars and motocycles , the São Sebastião/Ilhabela way is charged :
• Workdays:
• Motorcycles: R$ 9,50
• Cars: R$ 19,00
• Weekends and public holidays:
• Motorcycles: R$ 14,20
• Cars: R$ 28,50
• To cross back to Sao Sebastiao, only cars pay a R$ 8,00 (environment tax).
