Get to know Bath (no more "I wish I knew this before")

This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Bath.

Bath is located in the west of England and is best known for its well preserved Roman baths. Although not in use today, the original work of the Romans can be toured and experienced. This is hardly all that Bath has to offer though, with some of the best example of Gerogian architecture anywhere in the world displayed everywhere on its buildings. Do not miss the Royal Crescent or the Circus, home to many celebrities get aways. Ask your Bath hostel desk staff for details.

When booking a hostel in Bath, beware of the lay of the land. Bath is located in a very hilly landscape, and some hostels are located at the top of these hills and outside of the city. Although there are semi regular buses heading to the cities fringes, it is quite a walk if you miss your bus.

There are also several Bath hostels clustered around the river and entrance to the downtown core. The city lights up at night and weekends with many outdoor patios, some great clubs, and lots of discount drinking. During the day the city is much more laid back. No matter where you go you will feel safe in Bath as all the streets are well lit, graffiti virtually non existent, and very friendly locals.

If you are looking to get out of the city the hills have some amazing hiking trails. If you plan on doing much hiking then the hostels on the fringe of the city may be the better choice, as you are steps away from the start of many woodland paths.
