Good, Well Priced Jerusalem Hostel
With a good location, price, and staff, I did enjoy this hostel. Clean bathrooms and dorms as well as a perfectly stocked kitchen made the experience even better. Additionally, while the tours are a bit pricey, the Hostel is associated with the best tour company in Jerusalem with just about any excursion/trip you can imagine. The only negative I had was that the hostel had a very manufactured atmosphere trying to imitate a lively youth hostel when in reality, 50% of the patrons were older people not looking for anything but a bed. But if you aren't looking for a party hostel, absolutely go and note that a party hostel in the home of the 3 major monotheistic religions may be a tiny bit hard to come by. With all of that said, if I was in Jerusalem again, I would indeed come back.
Really enjoyed my stay
Great staff who were helpful in many ways including sorting out a problem with my booking (I'll book direct next time!). The facilities are clean and modern. I liked the large lounge area where there's also a well-equipped kitchen and a nice bar. They also have a good range of tours. Highly recommended!
Great base for exploring jerusalem and the West Bank
I had a very enjoyable stay at this hostel -- it is in a great location, right on Jaffa street and only 15 min walk from the old city. Lots happening at this hostel -- plenty of hostel events and many tours that allow you to easily explore jerusalem and other parts of the country. Only downside is the hostel is so big I can feel a bit impersonal. I would recommend this hostel BUT book direct -- you get a free welcome drink and there are more rooms available on their website!
One of my favorite hostels in Israel
This place is great. It has a backpacker vibe, the staff is helpful, and the location is perfectly situated next to the tram, minutes to the market, close to nightlife, and about a 15 minute walk to the Old City. The atmosphere was very memorable, it had a true hostel vibe. I stayed here twice, the first time I made the mistake of booking the ten person dorm, but after much pleading with the staff (it was occupied by a foul smelling creeper), I quickly switched to a four person dorm. I enjoyed the variety of nationalities at this place, it was truly international. The second time, I stayed with a group and stayed in a four person dorm. We had the pleasure of staying when there was a huge dance party in the lounge, and then chilling at a party in the market. Overall, you can't go wrong staying here. My only suggestion is to spend the extra 3-4 dollars a night for a four person dorm, and book in advance during the high season.
Best in Jerusalem
Everything about the hostel was fantastic. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful at all hours. The atmosphere is wonderful and inviting, so hanging out in the lounge and bar is great. There is room for everyone, you never feel cramped. The rooms are spacious and everything is clean. The location is great - the tram is right there, plus a bus station, and a convenience store, liquor store, and bakery are all right on the street level. The walk to the old city is short and nice and the hostel is right on Jaffa Street and by Ben Yehuda, both of which have tons of restaurants and shops. Staying here gets you discounts at various restaurants, tours, and at the Israel museum (which is fantastic). There is nothing better! We ended up having to spend an additional night at another hostel since the Abraham was too full for us to book it on short notice, and the Abraham was infinitely better, even though the other hostel also had good reviews.
I loved this place ... It was the best hostel I stayed at in Israel by far. It's brand new, the dorms are well designed, with en-suite toilet and shower and comfortable beds. The whole hostel is very clean throughout. The staff here are very helpful and professional. There's a large lounge and dining area with a large well equipped kitchen and a well priced bar on one of the upper floors. There's also free wi-fi and hammocks in this area if that's your thing. A basic breakfast is thrown in (Toast, cereal, tea, coffee). All at about 18 EUR a night! There's only two small negative points I can point out about this place, the first is that its about a 15 minute walk to the old town (although a new tram service has now started) and one side of the building suffers from traffic noise from the road outside. But all in all I can't recommend Abraham highly enough.
