Simple Stay Peacepark is a comfortable hostel right next to the main Hiroshima center and sightseeing areas. It offers a peaceful and friendly environment where, apart from free Wi-Fi, you can enjoy their extensive manga collection, their ping-pong table, or all the magnificent food stores a few steps away from their door.
The Location
Simple Stay is located at the top north of the Naka Ward, and although it sits just in front of an avenue, it is barely busy and you can't hear a single car from the inside. The hostel has a wonderful location with respect to Hiroshima's main tourist attractions, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Peace Memorial Park, which are barely two blocks away from its door. A little further away, but still at a very close distance, you can find Hiroshima's main shopping district, with access to restaurants and plenty of different shopping stores.
Although it is highly recommended to try the food at the city center, you don't have to go too far away to enjoy some of the best takoyaki and sushi in the city -- some of the best restaurants are just a few steps from the hostel's door. Ask their staff for recommendations! For the budget eater, there is as well a Lawson convenience store right next to the hostel.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel offers futon and bunk-bed dorms; each is a fantastic rest quality option and only up to everyone's preferences (futon dorms are more simple and roomy than bed dorms). All of its rooms are located in the two upper floors, which have as well one shared bathroom in each of them -- for men and for women, respectively. Not too conveniently though, the showers are in the bottom floor (next to reception), and you have to go all the way down and all the way up again to take a shower before heading to bed.
Common Spaces
Most of the hostel activity happens at the bottom floor, right next to reception. There you can find a little kitchen area and a few tables at which to eat and chat with other travelers. Also in this same area, the active guest will find himself pleased with its ping-pong table, while the more relaxed (and hopefully a little otaku) one will enjoy their extensive collection of anime DVDs and manga comics and magazines.

Simple Stay Peacepark offers an enjoyable stay in Hiroshima within a very competitive price range. Its comfy beds and futons, together with its friendly environment, make it the best base from which to start discovering this wonderful city.
