"Malabar," is an ancient Asian word, meaning "beautiful valley." Located on a 900-acre working farm in Malabar Farm State Park, the hostel is a 1913 Sears Roebuck Catalog House, once the home of Louis Bromfield author/agriculturlist.
Join us for the "Barnyard Experience!" Guests at the hostel are invited to feed the farm animals each morning and evening. Go bird watching or explore the rolling hills and valleys of this beautiful state park on foot, by bicycle, or on cross country ski's.
The B&O Bike Trail is within six miles. Nearby lakes are great for swimming, boating or ice skating depending on the season. Canoe livery and horseback riding are nearby with two downhill ski resort located close to the hostel.
