• From the airport:
• Selina Kalu Yala is accessible from Tocumen Airport – about 50 minutes away by car. Once you land, you can get to Kalu Yala Basecamp three ways. Take an Uber for 50 minutes ($15-25). Take a taxi to the town of San Miguel (*not recommended – some taxis get confused and take you to San Miguelito, which is a different town). Or, take a taxi ($5) to the La Doña Bus Terminal. From there, catch a bus that leaves every 30 minutes to San Miguel (La Mesa). It’s an hour and 30 minute ride that should cost $6.25 total (including the taxi).
• After arriving at Kalu Yala Basecamp, take Selina’s 4x4 transportation to Kalu Yala (30 mins, $20 round-trip per person) or hike in (2 hours). Hiking is recommended for early morning arrivals, but not recommended during rainy season.
• From another Selina:
• The closest Selina is Selina Panama City (opening 2018). Book a shuttle or take the bus (directions below).
• By bus:
• First, you have to take a bus to 24 de Diciembre/La Doña. Take a MetroBus (with card) with direction to Felipillo or Pacora or La Doña, or a 'Diablo Rojo' with direction Chepo - Corredor. Then, you have to take a second bus o Kalu Yala Base Camp (San Miguel), There is only 1 bus that goes to San Miguel. The bus is called 'San Miguel (La Mesa) - La Doña.' Finally, from Basecamp take our 4x4 transportation to Kalu Yala ($20 round-trip per person) or hike in (2 hours). Hiking is recommended for early morning arrivals, but not recommended during rainy season.
