Get to know Bozeman (no more "I wish I knew this before")

This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Bozeman.

Bozeman is one of the most vivid places in Montana during the school year, the student population outnumbers the local population, and in summer many tourists invade the place. If you're looking for a Bozeman hostel, you will find one here. Bozeman is a small town with all amenities which can be a good resting point to enjoy again the civilization after long outdoors stays, or a good stage in a tour of Montana or the west. It is a four-season place with two ski resorts within decent distance (one, not very famous, which is a favorite among locals and students, and a posh one, about an hour drive away), and many snowmobiling or snow hikes in winter and early spring, and fantastic hiking and camping opportunities in summer and fall. It is also the nearest town to the western part of Yellowstone national park.

Many bars are open late and they can be followed by a visit to one of the local clubs, making for a good night life. Ask the staff at your hostel in Bozeman for the bar and clubs in fashion, and also corresponding to your taste, since some are country music only, or other mainly poker parlors. You will feel like it's the end of the 19th century, sitting at a poker table surrounded by hat and boots wearing players. There is also a nice hot spring in Bozeman, open some evenings, which can be a much quieter, but equally nice end of the day after spending several hours hiking or skiing on the slopes.
