Not comfortable
Big hostel so very noisy middle of night, smell is marijuana, Not really clean, but if you love to party should be ok.

Nice place, great location
I recently stayed at Sundancer's and enjoy it very much. It's quiet without being boring and the staff and friendly and helpful. Facilities are basic but adequate.

A VERY NICE PLACE
I recently stayed at the Sundancer. Had a great time. The three people in my room were very friendly and helpful. The room, the toilets, the showers, the kitchen, the pool area and the reception area very clean. I will be staying there again the next time I visit Fremantle.

I had a wonderful time!!
I've stayed 2 times in Sundancer and every time I've spent an amazing time. I would definitively recommend this place! The location is great, the staff very helpful and available for any question, my room mates were awesome, the kitchen is big enough for everybody,I enjoyed the table tennis, the billiard and the swimming pool, the free barbecue event and many more! I hope coming back someday soon. Very happy of this experience!!

Avoid at all costs
had a drunken and aggressive rabble of blokes greet us in the front bar, the hostel staff were friendly enough, but after going upstairs to the rooms to find permanent residence in some of the rooms giving us stares as if we were trespassing in there space and other peoples junk just littered everywhere with the stench of unwashed clothes, people and everything in between. we decided to leave immediately. as we left my friend i was traveling with commented that he had stayed in hostels in Russia and the Sundancer make them seem like the Hilton.

Not so bad
there is a huge shortage of low income accom for locals in Freo and a lot of Australia. In the winter the hostels are half empty so if you want to stay in them you need the locals to keep the money coming in in the off season. And it is not fair to kick them out. There is nowhere to go. Bedbugs have reemerged world wide after a lull. If you spray the place to death it is bad for humans. You can clean your own area daily and keep your stuff well bagged. YOu can also spray your own area with a commercial repellent if you must or a mix of citronella and neem and something nice smelling and lots of water. That seems to be how it is.

Avoid this hellhole!
We stayed here the week before Christmas and it was the worst week of my life. The hostel would be so much better if the long term residents left and the staff had more control over the noise! I had to wear earplugs every night to help the noise go away, which helped, except when they fell out! I was very pleased to leave this dive and I would rather sleep on the street than stay another night there!
