Great hostel in a beautiful city!
Hostel is very clean, beds and toilet very well maintained. Staff were friendly and always there to help you.
Location is 5 minutes to the city square on foot and near nice restaurants and shopping area. 20 mins away to Kalambaka by bus which got a good public transportation.
Trikala city is much cheaper though with a lot more things to do especially at night. Absolutely recommended!

Great location, friendly and very helpful stuff!
Fabulous unique place. Atmosphere was very good. The owners and staff were extremely helpful, free coffee, water, and "arrival drink" were all nice. Clean rooms, good info about the city and the local taverna restaurant just down the road is perfect. Delicious cheap dinner after 8 pm and the bar is perfect meeting place for the residents. Lovely smiley people. Review has to be 100%!

One of the best hostels I have stayed at!
The staff was very helpful and cheerful. You'll get a delicious welcome drink (homemade wine -- juice or liquor) on your arrival. The hostel is decorated with a lot of passion and love for details. The linen, towels, and other facilities were clean and in good condition. The hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood just 5 min walking to the centre. The wifi is good everywhere in the hostel. The downstairs lounging and bar area had a good ambiance and easy to meet people.

Hey Julie and Dimitri, you have a very nice Hostel in such a beautiful environment. I enjoyed it a lot! After this no hostel will seem as good. Please keep it this way ... Go to Trikala city -- loved it!!!
Trikala or Kalampaka? I chose Trikala and I absolutely recommend it to everyone!!! Hostel Meteora is far the cheapest in whole area and very modern, clean and with a great Greek atmosphere. Dimitri and Juliana are really friendly and helpful, gave me all the information I needed for Greece and continuation of my journey to Albania. Train to Kalambaka takes 15 minutes and costs 1,4 euro but there are also tours available at the hostel every day. In addition to this, they give you a map with which you get a discount in a lot of restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries etc. in Trikala and also 10% off in many hostels in Greece and in the Balkan countries!!!

FAR, FAR METEORA
This is the only hostel in the Meteora area and is very popular between backpackers because it's associated to a balkan network of hostels, especially to the studios arabas of Thessaloniki, owned by Dimitri's brother, Costa. So, many people come here to visit Meteora, but the distance isn't "only 10 miles," but 20 km from here to Kalambaka and then after 4-5 km to reach the Grand Meteoro monastery. Twenty minutes with a quickly car but 90 minutes with public bus. You have to leave the hostel at 7'50, 9'50 and 11'50 to go to the bus stop, take the bus to Kalambaka at 8,10 and 12 (30-40 minutes, 2,30euro) and than take the bus Kalambaka- Grand Meteoro at 9, 11 and 13 (15-20 minutes, 1,60euro). The last bus who come back to Kalambaka from the monastery is at 13,15, then taxies or feet. Single traveler, who sleeps in the hostel and takes the bus to Kalambaka, spends 17,10 euro (accommodation 12,50 2 bus tickets 4,60); he can save money because single rooms are very expensive in Kalambaka or Kastraki. But 2 or more persons can find a cheap accomodation in this last villages at the same price (17,10x2=34,20 17,10x3=51,30),avoiding the slow bus Trikala-Kalambaka. I add only, to complete the review upstairs, that in this hostel, at the ground floor, there are 2 dorms with 5 and 4 beds but only 4 lockers. Ask the receipt, as requested by greek law.

Best budget / quality accommodation in the area! Discount prices and special gifts for all our guests arriving from the best balkan hostels organisation and from Hostels of Thessaloniki! Also free transport from Trikala to Kalambaka very often! Besides, 1,4€ costs the train and takes 15 minutes to the village of Kalmbaka or 2,2€ the bus and takes 20 minutes. Trikala city is much bigger than Kalambaka, and not touristy, with many more options for going out, enjoying cheap and quality food, music events and many many options for the night. Buses to all Greek cities start from Trikala Central Bus Station.

Dmitri was super friendly, you may have to call the number on the door if he's not around and wait a couple of minutes. Wifi was good and the map and explanations of how to get to Meteora were excellent!
