There were five of us in the hostel and we all enjoyed the stay. the kitchen is well equipped, the WCs are clean and the surroundings are spectacular. Staff was very nice, too. nevertheless, we had some trouble finding the place and no one in the district knew the name of the street. it would be good to provide guests with a detailed description of how to arrive.

This hostel offers everything you need for a short stay in Trondheim and is even cheap compared with usual prices in Norway. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was simple but absolutely okay (most important: good coffee!) the rooms were small but functional and the showers and toilets were clean enough. By the way: the hostel is up on the hill, it might be a bit exhausting to carry your luggage up here, but the view over the Fjord (especially at night) will compensate for that!
I stayed in Sept-2006. clean. nice, quiet common room. too far from anything, and it's at the top of a hill. People with lots of stuff beware. expensive. expensive internet.
The hostel was nice to stay in. There were nine of us and we had indicated when we had booked it that we were students, when I paid for the trip on on my card the woman working the front desk charged us the full amount! Then she says it's too late to change it, which I believe is BS. She could easily reverse the transaction and then put in the correct amount -- even if it costs the hostel for the reverse transaction it would just make good business relations. Hostel was very expensive as well but again then most of Norway is!
This hostel has everything you'd need. It was clean enough and the beds were comfy. I met some great people here. It has two common areas, one smoking, one non-smoking. The kitchen facilities were okay; you can borrow anything you need to cook with from reception. Breakfast is included, and it's pretty good compared to other hostels I've stayed at. The showers have curtains, a major bonus! Trondheim itself is lovely. Take a trip out to Monkholmen Island, it's beautiful! And a day trip to Roros is well worth it, too.
