• Close to The Counsel Square there's the spiral tour of The Black Church. The black face masterpiece was built in the biginning of the 15th century and it took its name from the fire in 1689 which left the church black. The church can be visited even thoe right now it's being repaired. Occasionally the church is lodging concerts of classic music. Near the Black Church there's Republicii Street a nice place for a walk and a great opportunity for shopping. Here you can find especially handicraft shopes where they sale: painted eggs, wollen carpets, wooden toys and engravings. The best vue of Brasov can be seen from Tampa (the mountain top) after a trip in the funicular (daily between 10 h and 18 h excepting Mondays). You get to the funicular after a walk in the old area of the city, leaving The Counsel Square and going up the street Apollonia Hirscher.
• At the end of the street Apollonia Hirscher you go left on Castelului street. Then you go right on Romer street till the end of the street where you go up the stairs that get to the funicular station. Right at the entrance there are the ruines of the old wall of the city. Going along the wall you can get to the Weaver's Bastion( it is one of the corners of the city that lasts since 1421-1436 and it's lodging a museum occasonally opened for the public).
