The Location

When coming to Da Lat, you have to make a crucial choice -- will you be exploring the city with its central lake, the Crazy House, the night market, churches, and temples or are you more interested in discovering the surrounding forests, waterfalls, and taking the cable car up to a monastery? This choice should inform your decision on where to stay, and if you prefer the latter one, iColor will offer the perfect base for you. It is only a short walk away from the Interregional bus station and in a strategic position for exploring the nature around Da Lat. It is not impossible to do some sightseeing in the city from here either, but it will definitely take you a lot longer. The other reason why you should pick this place is the view you get from the hostel; no matter if you are chilling on the terrace or sitting in front of your room, you will be mesmerised by the scenery at your feet.

Rooms and Bathrooms

At iColour, you have a choice between dorms and private rooms but overall, dorms dominate. Even though on most booking platforms, it says you are booking a six- or eight-bed dorm, but the dorms here are massive, accommodating three levels of beds with a total of around fifteen beds per room. However, it will definitely not feel crammed as everybody gets their own spacious capsule with a thick curtain at the end. Inside, you have an electronic plug and a bedside lamp. Everybody also gets a locker, even if these are only big enough to hold personal items. The atmosphere at the hostel is really upbeat and youthful, thanks to the many colours and the nice decor of the place. At the hostel, they pay a lot of attention to ensure that guests can rest in silence and get a good night's sleep. However, this is normally not a problem as people who choose this place prefer a quiet evening in general anyway. There are plenty of bathrooms on each floor, which are huge, extremely clean, and comfortable.

Common Spaces

As you enter the hostel, you will first come to the reception area, which is also the indoors common area. This is where free breakfast is served in the morning -- you have a choice amongst seven dishes even though most of them consist of eggs and either bread or noodles. In this area, free herbal tea is available all through the day, and between 7 and 8 p.m. you get a free beer as well. However, the nicest place to sit is in front of the hostel on the terrace from where you can take in the nice views over the valley, either lying on a sun bed or sitting at the trendy barrel tables on a high chair. As it does get cold here in the mountains, an added bonus of the hostel is that it offers coats for rent for its guests.

iColor simply could not get better! With its amazing customer service, perfect location, the generous breakfast, and a lovely dorm, this place is guaranteed to blow your mind. The only problem is that you will feel so relaxed here that it will be hard to leave!
