Meet the local people of the island in our hostel and bar. See, and experience how the family's live their life on our lovely backpacker island Ometepe. You eat, sleep and stay in the originally house of the family Ramos Paizano. You are invited to stay in the original homestay of your host Lizzeth and Mark.
Also around lives Rosario and Francisco, Douglas and family. If you are interested in the culture and people of Ometepe, than this is the place to stay during you holiday.
Our hostel is small and basic, we have 3 rooms ( 2 person bed per room ) and 1 dorm room ( max 6-8 pers ), seperate toilet for ladies and men and 1 shower. We have 2 tent places ( 2 persons max per tent ) We provide the tent , YOU have to put it up.
We make breakfast, dinner and supper, we also rent bike's for you and arange guide for Volcano or tours on the island.
WE ARE THE CLOSSEST HOSTEL TO "Oye de Agua"
Nature is all around the hostel and with litlle luck you wake up with the howler monkey's in front of the house.

• The Ometepe hostel La Penita is located almost in the middle of the island just 2 kilometers from the main town Altagracia. The same distance away as the wonderful natural spring on the island: Ojo de Agua with its crystal clear water. We are only 500 meters from the base of the volcano conception and its hiking route and at only 30 meters from the main road and the bus stop.
• Take the bus to Altagracia, ask the bus driver to stop at "La Penita".
