Very clean, comfortable, and friendly
This is a perfect place to stay and chill out if you're not looking for a party hostel. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, linens, towels, and common areas are all spotless. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help you out with any questions you might have. A quiet place so you are guaranteed to get a great night's sleep. The hostel is a 5 minute walk to Parque Juarez (centro) and all the major amenities (banks, supermarkets, library, stores, markets). I will definitely return back here again.

Great hostel, really well designed
This hostel is the cleanest one in the whole country, or at least among the many where I have stayed, the building is big, nice and perfectly designed to be a hostel. Dorms aren't too spacious but they have everything you need and (very strange for Mexico) everything is in perfect condition. There are open spaces everywhere and common areas are big and nice. When I was there it was low season and the hostel was almost empty so I don't know how lively it gets when busy, but I don't think it is a party hostel. One strange thing that I didn't like is that they rent the kitchen/dining to an evangelist group on Sundays from noon til two or three hours later I think. They are kind of noisy and, well, out of place there, but still if I go back to Xalapa I will stay here again.
