Location and Contact

Location

• About the Paris Metro:
• The Paris metro is a rapid public transportation system offering 16 lines, numbered 1 to 14, including the minor lines 3bis and 7bis (most likely you won’t have to worry about these). The Paris metro is fantastically easy to use, but take a bit of time to get to know it.
• The direction to take the subway in is always the last stop of the line in the direction of your destination.
• The subway is quite safe, convenient (metro stops are close together, so you never have to walk too far), very frequent (usually between 1-5 minute waits, except for later at night), and runs between approximately 5.30 AM and 12.45 AM.
• Though you will mainly need the metro to get around, there are also bigger trains that run towards the suburbs, called the RER, lines A, B, C, D, and E; tramways that travel along the peripheries of Paris, lines 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 5, and 7, and a multitude of bus lines.
• Buying a ticket is simple: you can either purchase them directly from the machine if you have change (highly recommended as it can save you a headache) or a credit or debit card with a chip. Otherwise, some stations take bills, and most have a teller that can assist you or sell you tickets.
• In terms of fare, for a single ride on the metro, a “Ticket t+” costs €1,90 (this includes transfers). Passes are available for 1, 2, 3, or 5 days that allows unlimited access to the metro that start at €10 (reduced fare for children). You can also buy a weekly pass, but be aware that it runs from Monday to Monday, not a week from when you buy it (same goes for a monthly, which starts on the 1st and ends on the last day of the month).
• Le Regent Montmartre Hostel & Budget Hotel is easily accessible from Paris Metro Line 2 (blue), Line 4 (purple), and Line 12 (green).
• From Metro Line 2:
• The Anvers stop on Metro Line 2 is right across the street from the hostel. Once you exit the station, you will be between two streets. Cross the street on your left (towards the small park). Once you reach the park on the other side of the street, turn left and walk down the Boulevard Rochechouart. The hostel is barely one block away (number 37). Look for the international flags!
• Caution: Do not confuse Boulevard Rochechouart and Rue Rochechouart! The hostel is on Boulevard Rochechouart.
• From Metro Line 4:
