• We are located at 226 Ambrose on a one-way street in downtown Port Arthur, Thunder Bay.
• From the airport by URIDE:
• The Thunder Bay International Airport is 15-20 minutes away from the Haven Hostel. We strongly recommend NOT USING local taxi companies as they cost an arm and a leg. Before arriving download the URIDE app which is similar to UBER in other cities. Prearrange a ride with them from the airport to The Haven. Cost on average is between $25 and $30 dollars. Please call us prior to your arrival as sometimes we have flat rate deal with URIDE to our facility.
• In case you have a pick-up and they are unsure of our location - we are located between John St. and Red River Rd. just off of Court St. The ride should take about 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic.
• From Western Canada by car :
• If you're coming from West of Thunder Bay:
• Driving along the Trans-Canada Highway, you’ll turn left onto Highway ON-102. After approximately 33 km, Highway ON-102 will turn into Red River Rd. You’ll come to a set of street lights. Drive straight through the street lights and stay on Red River Rd. until you come to Court St. Turn right onto Court St. Approximately 2.5 blocks down Court St. you will turn left onto Ambrose St. This is a one way street! The Haven Hostel will be approximately 100 m down and will be located on your left side.
• From Eastern Canada by car:
• Driving along the Trans-Canada Highway, you’ll take the Hodder Ave. exit. Turn left at the stop sign, staying on Hodder Ave. Follow Hodder Ave. for approximately 10 minutes (or about 7 km). Turn right onto Pearl St. Drive through one set of street lights and stop at the next stop sign. You’ll turn left onto Court St. About half a block down, turn left onto Ambrose St. This is a one way street! The Haven Hostel will be approximately 100 m down and will be located on your left side.
• From the United States via the Grand Portage/ Pigeon River border crossing:
• Follow Highway ON-61 North into Thunder Bay. Once you get into Thunder Bay, you'll drive through two sets of street lights. Turn right at the third set of lights onto the Harbour Expressway. Follow the Harbour Expressway until you reach Fort William Rd. (fourth set of lights). Turn left onto Fort William Rd. Drive approximately 3 km and turn left onto Bay St. You’ll turn right at the first set of lights you come to onto Court St. Drive approximately 350 m and turn right onto Ambrose St. This is a one way street! The Haven Hostel will be approximately 100 m down and will be located on your left side.
