The big advantage of Ginger Hostel is its designer-style interior, which makes it feel like a hotel at times.
The Location
The hostel is situated on the third floor of an apartment building. There is an elevator, so heavy luggage is no problem. The location of the hostel is not that central, you have to walk at least five minutes to get to the centre of the Old Town. Also to get to the hostel, you have to cross a road with a lot of traffic in front of the building, which is a little difficult without making a detour; unfortunately there is no underpass or traffic light near. The Krakow central train or bus station can be reached in twenty minutes by public transportation. The Wawel Castle and Jewish Krakow (Kazimierz) can be reached easily by foot. A supermarket is basically on the other side of the (hard-to-cross) road.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The interior of the hostel is tastefully designed in a modern puristic style. It feels more like a designer hotel than a hostel. Everything is very clean. There is a smell of room perfume everywhere, which gives you a good feeling throughout your stay. There are two toilet cabins in the corridor, and a room with a shower cabin and a toilet. The bathrooms/toilet rooms/shower rooms feel a little too small. There should be more hooks to hang your stuff. The beds are nicely designed, the mattresses are very comfortable, and the sheets are very good.
Common Spaces
There is a huge common room, which is basically an open kitchen (again, tastefully designed). You can sit on chairs at tables, on a couch, or on bar chairs with a high counter-style table in front of the windows. You can see Wawel Castle from the windows and the River Vistula. You can also go outside, as there is a balcony. There is a drinking-water dispenser.
Summary
The breakfast is good, so you'll like to take a second round; it justifies the slightly higher price you might pay here in comparison to other hostels. On the other hand, the hostel is not too central. Some of the staff’s English could have been better. However, this hostel is still excellent!

Description
Ginger ApartHostel is a cozy hostel at the very heart of the Krakow. Our hostel is located close to the bus and tram station (Jubilat), so you will be able to get to any part of the city without any difficulties.
We have various rooms that will meet any demands and budgets - private rooms for two, three, four people and dorms for six, eight or twelve people. We also offer a six bed female dorms for solo and not only female travelers.
Our guests can make use of the self service kitchen where they can have free drinks, cook and just chill out after the day exploring the city. Free breakfast is being served here every morning from 7 to 10 o'clock. If there are any question or any help is needed, our guests can rely on the 24h reception. Here they also can receive free city maps and other info sources. Our receptionist speak Polish, English, German, Russian and Ukrainian. And we all love to meet people and talk.
We do our best to provide our guests with the comfortable and well organized accommodation. Every guests has a locker that meet the hand luggage size, every room has it individual Wi Fi network, towels and toiletries are in price. An individual light controller and socket are embedded in every bed.
