Guess what? Penrith is also named and spelled Penrith Blue Mountains - It is the same destination. Goodbye confusion.

Penrith is on the outskirts of Blue Mountains National Park, but is still considered to be a part of the Greater Western Sydney region. Blue Mountains National Park itself has much to see and explore, such as the Three Sisters rock pillars, Wentworth Falls, an abundance of hiking trails, and some very quaint small towns that have unique boutiques and displays. You can easily kill a couple of days driving around the Blue Mountains National Park area from Penrith.

In the more local Penrith area, you will find an array of different natural, cultural, and historical things to see and do. For the nature lovers, the Bird of Prey Center, Lacy's Caves, and Blue Mountains National Park are for you.

Hostels in Penrith are located fairly centrally. If you ask at your Penrith hostel, the friendly staff should be able to point you in the direction of any grocery or supplies stores that you might need for your travels. They should also be able to point you in the direction of any tour companies that do tours around the area if you do not have a car to easily access some of the attractions yourself, as public transport in this area can be few and far between.
