Location and Contact

Location

• We're a bit off the beaten path but getting here is a breeze.
• For our guests arriving from Medellin: You can catch the Barbosa public bus. A small bus that leaves from then Niquia Metro Station(the last station on the north end of Medellin) or from the Medellin city center(Metro Station Prado these buses also pass by Terminal Norte, a large bus station). Either of these buses will bring you to Barbosa. Upon arriving in town give us a call and we'll pick you up.
• For our guests arriving from Santander/Bucaramanga, San Gil or Santa Marta:
• You'll want to take the bus to Medellin. While buying your ticket or be sure to tell the transportation company that you'll be getting off in Barbosa, Antioquia. It may save you some money on your fare because Medellin is an hour further. Be Careful! There is another Barbosa in Colombia. Stress the 'Antioquia' detail.
• For our guests arriving from the Atlantic Coast:
• You'll take the bus to Medellin. About a half hour before Medellin, after passing the small town of Don Matias, you'll want to get off the bus. On that same road you can catch a bus to Barbosa. They we be traveling the opposite direction that you were previously traveling. From that point the town of Barbosa, Antioquia is about twenty minutes or less.
• NOTE: even if the bus is not a Barbosa bus on that road it is still going to pass by Barbosa. So, you can hail any bus going that direction and tell them to leave in Barbosa.
• In any scenario, before arriving call us so we can be waiting for you. Also, for an additional cost we provide transportation within the Medellin area if you don't feel like taking public transportation.
• The most commonly travelled route to reach our place would be comming from Medellin. From the city there are several points where you can catch the Barbosa buses. They leave from the Metro station Prado in the city center, the Terminal Norte bus station, or from the Niquia Metro station. The bus costs $3,600 COP. Depending on your location in Medellin you can decide on the most adaquate point of departure. Often, it is most practical to take the Metro to the northernmost station, Niquia, and from there the Barbosa bus. After arriving in Barbosa you can call us for the last ten minute part of your journey. A mountain taxi will be provided to you for an aditonal cost of $15,000 COP.
• If you are arriving by bus from the Caribbean Coast or Cartagena via bus to Medellin you will stay on the bus until you are approximately a half hour past the town of Don Matias. Ask the bus driver to drop you at the road toll Trapiche or Peaje Trapiche. From that point you can catch the buses to Barbosa.
• If you are coming from Bucaramanga, San Gil, or any point in San Tander, you have the easiest route. If you take the bus to Medellin it will pass directly by Barbosa. Get off at the towns enterance and contact us for the last, uphill part of your trip.
