04village Kujo is located a bit far away from the main attractions but it’s near Osaka Dome. It is a quiet neighborhood; the hostel is not very social but the guest can have privacy and good amenities for a comfortable stay. It is very clean and has coffee and tea twenty-four/seven.
The Location
This hostel is well located if you want to stay nearby the baseball dome (five minutes' walking) but it’s a thirty-minute walk to the main attractions (like Dotombori); however, Kujo Station is located seven minutes' walking away, so it’s easy to move around Osaka. It’s located in front of a park and it’s a very calm neighborhood. It’s easy to recognize since there is a big sign outside. The main restaurants and supermarkets are located ten minutes' walking (Kujo area).
Rooms and Bathrooms
There is a female-only dorm room downstairs for six people; the dorm has a door lock and a sink inside the dorm. The shower and toilets are outside. The shower is a proper room and there is a female-only toilet and a mixed toilet on this floor. The mixed dorm for eight people that's upstairs doesn’t have dorm lock and has two toilets, a shower, and two sinks. There is also a small table and a Japanese area inside the dorm. The shower is a cabin, it’s not a proper room; it only has a curtain to divide the space from the other shower, but it’s good. There is a hanger and a small basket to put your stuff while taking a shower.
Each bed -- consisting of a futon and sheets -- is self-made; the pillow is not very comfortable, but it’s still fine. Each space has its own lamp and curtain. It doesn’t have a hanger but there is a hanger inside the locker. Lockers have a self-set password and they are big enough.
The toilets are clean. The shower is hot, and they offer shampoo and body soap (but no conditioner). There are hair dryers, and a body and face towel as well as a toothbrush are offered.
Common Spaces
This is a two-floor building. In the entrance there are umbrellas that you can borrow, and a space to put your shoes. There is a fridge, microwave, and a table with coffee and tea. There is a map with the attractions and convenience stores near the hostel and general maps about Osaka. There is a basket with amenities, including facial masks, facial cleaners, toothpaste, and free candies and earplugs.
Summary
This is a nice, clean, quiet hostel that has a good location if you're attending an event near the Dome and like to walk or take the subway to the main attractions, but it's not very convenient if you want to party.
