The Pink Container, Masai Mara

• Directions to hostel:
• ~We can arrange you a private door to door taxi transfer from Nairobi to The Pink Container for US$ 150 each way for up to 2 passengers or US$ 180 each way for up to 4 passengers. Taxi transfers to/from other locations can also be arranged.
• ~For independent travellers Nkoilale is accessible via public transport from Nairobi and we can arrange to pick you up in Nkoilale and bring you to our farm. In Nairobi you would first need to get a Narokline 14 seater matatu from the Nyamakima area of the CBD which will depart once it's full, it is around a 3 hour journey and costs the local currency equivalent of approx. $5 per person. In Narok we can connect you with a driver who will bring you to The Pink Container for $35, alternatively you can go to the matatu stage next to Naivas supermarket and get a 'probox' matatu going to Nkoilale or Sekenani, they cost approx. $5 per person and once they depart it takes around 1.5 hours to arrive. Ask to be dropped at 'Kings' in Nkoilale and let us know once you depart Narok so we can meet you there. If you are travelling to us via public transport we will provide you with a complementary pick up and drop off in Nkoilale.
• ~If you are self driving with your own vehicle you will need to leave Nairobi and head to Mai Mahiu or Suswa before branching left to Narok. After Narok you need to take a left again onto the C12 and follow the tarmac all the way to just before Nkoilale. From the main road Google Maps will not show you the correct route to arrive at Kobi Farm as it does not recognise our road so if you plan to self drive please drop us a message in advance of your arrival so we can send you the GPS points showing you the last 3 km to our gate. The last 3km is a rough road so having a vehicle with high ground clearance is recommended, a 4WD is not normally required unless it is very wet.
• *Please note if you are coming with your own driver we have nowhere for them to stay at the farm so they will need to drop you off and pick you up as required. Our closest township with lodging available is Nkoilale.

• We are located in the bush on the border of the Olkinyei Conservancy, 3km from Nkoilale town and 2km from the main tarmac road, on the edge of the Maasai Mara. It is approximately 240km and a 4-5 hour drive from Nairobi via the town of Narok. The Sekenani gate to the Maasai Mara National Reserve is a 15 minute (11km) drive away. If you don't have your own transport during your stay and you would like to visit the town, it is around a 30 minute walk to Nkoilale or it's also possible to get a motorbike taxi for a few $.
