Hostal Penelope is a perfect place to stay, the only exception is noise from the street -- however that was easily solved with earplugs. Our room (302) on the third floor (there is a lift), was reasonably spacious, had two small balconies which overlooked the street below, and there was also a view of the snow-capped mountains, which was very stunning. The room was cosy, very clean, and had the best air-con I've ever seen. There's a remote control with "too warm - too cold" on the bedside and the air-con (which was needed) was very quite. To add, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. This, for me, was helped even further because one of the staff members is Swedish. The tapas on sale in the attached bar/restaurant are superb, give the assorted (sortidos) tapas a go! On the day we went to the Alhambra they made very yummy bocadillos for us even though they were very busy. The location is unbeatable for everything especially nightlife!
To top it off it was very very reasonable priced - we would definitely stay there again!
Liked: Very adequate, close to the centre of the town and the bus stop to go to the Alhambra. Quiet room. Staff friendly. Perfect really...not far to go for a meal. I would go back to that place. Didn't like: I didn't dislike anything except that we didn't get a view from the bedroom window. Outlook onto a quiet courtyard...
Location
Liked: It was in a nice location, near the city center. Didn't like: It was quite noisy. Also during the night since it is in a busy street, full of restaurants and bars.
Liked: Great location, clean and quaint room. Paco works very hard at the front desk and the restaurant to make sure there is always somebody there. He is very helpful and great to practice Spanish with! Didn't like: The bathroom was tiny, but no big deal!
Liked: Friendly and helpful staff. It was funny the staff at the reception was sleeping snoring at night even though it's 24 hours! Didn't like: It's located in a very busy street with a lot of restaurants so very noisy at night but it wasn't as bad as we couldn't sleep.
Liked: Clean and tidy with good locationMany restaurants on your doorstepStaff very helpful and friendly Didn't like: Some walls need a new coat of paint
It is very central close of everethings. The owner and his wife are very kind
Liked: Perfect location for visiting Alhambra, The Catredal ect. Comfy bed, very clean rooms, I got my room cleaned - new soap, clean towel. Nice staff - very helpful. Lots of nice bars, restaurants just in front of the hostel. Didn't like: If you are a light sleeper, remember to bring earplugs, there is quite some noise from the street right in from of the hostel - but for a few nights, its fine. Quite far away from the bus/transtation - but bus no. 3+33 stops really near the hostel.
the hostel is nice.
the ubication is splendid if you plan to visit granada.
The service is great, the owner paco was really helpful.
but hotel is above one of the noisiest street i can imagine, don't expect to sleep before 1 in the morning, or bring ear plugs.
on the whole i recommend it
Perfect moments in Hostal Navas 14 ! Navas street in full of bar, pub and traditional bodegas where you can drink beer and eat free tapas! Strategic location, cleanliness and atmosphere make Hostal Navas 14 the best choice for you days in Granada!
Liked: Operated by a very friendly and helpful couple, I didn't receive one bit of negative feeling when once I have to wake the owner up from his sleep in the morning. Our room was cleaned everyday (though I am not sure whether it is a norm. This is the first time I have a private room in a hostel). Superb location and value for money Didn't like: the bathroom door was quite broken
Liked: Good clean and comfortable accommodation, with good showers, and a good central location Didn't like: Not much. Not great if you're looking to meet other travelers, but that's about it.
Great Value place to stay and on one of Granadas best eating strips! Nice bar downstairs to relax with some Tapas & Beer!
Very helpful and friendly staff. No complaints other than the bathroom was too small.
The Staff was really friendly and helpfull (it helps if you speak Spanish though)
The bar is great and so are the Tapas
i was there on 30,31 of may 2010.i just loved to stay there.such a clean and nice room.best location very near to alhambra and center od city. nice staff.very clean wc.
This hostel is right in the middle of the biggest tapas street in Granada--there are at least 10 places within 100 feet of each other. Good location--easy walk to several big sites and the major road of Granada.
Noisy, but if you bring ear plugs it's not a problem.
Tiny bathroom, but room was clean and attractive and worth the money.
Staff was pleasant and did their best to work with our combination of English and Italian, since we spoke little Spanish.
Overall it was a lovely stay!
The hostel staff is very friendly and is happy to help. There is a small bar downstairs, very local atmosphere. Rooms are small, but have all you need. Extra plus is the free wifi access they provide. I would defenitely recommend it!
very clean and (relatively?) calm hostal located on the nice narrow street full of small restaurants and hotels right in the city center, just next to ayuntamiento and cathedral. they claim they provide you with internet but i couldnt establish connection, seems they cheat or just dont care enough about this:/ nice, english speaking service. they also own small pub/restaurant just next to the hostal.
Even if they have network for interent, sometimes, it didn't work and frequency of network wasn't strong. Thereby, the interent was connected and disconnected continuously. It was so uncomfortable.
