Infested with bedbugs, Rude Service

Do not stay at this hotel, they are infested with bedbugs and owners won't do anything about it!!! I found this hotel on a booking site, it had 5 star reviews but was cheap so I booked it. Should have read more into the reviews. When we went to retire around 10pm and pulled back our sheet covers we found not only stains that look like blood on the sheets and also live bedbugs!!! I have picture of this! This is awful, no visitors should be subjected to staying in a hotel with a bedbug problem, it's a terrible health violation! We spent another hour after that running around trying to find a last minute hotel in the rain but got the hell out of there stat! I am still struggling to get my full stay refunded, owners wouldn't refund me from the first night after we left because we weren't willing to stay in an infested room. The old guy who doesn't speak english saw the bug and stains when we showed them and shrugged! Couldn't even offer us a different room or fresh sheets in the hotel. Claimed the mattress was new and when we pulled back the sheets there we yellow stain on it. When I talked to a lady named Fiona the next day she tried to claim there were no bugs in the room (Even though I have pics and my bf was there to witness it as well!). I told Fiona "I have pictures to prove you have bugs, it's not about not liking the hotel but a serious hygiene and health issue!" she was totally rude and said "well I'm sorry this isn't america." I'm sorry what?! Because it isn't america it's ok to not have have basic hygiene in your hotel? For 100$ I don't think I'm asking for much to expect a non-bug-infested room and to have clean sheets without blood on them? Also as a minor side note their WIFI didn't reach our room at all (Even though the booking site said it has excellent wifi) and there also aren't common areas to use it. But honestly that was the least of our problems with this place. we stayed in room 9. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place!

Hotel? Motel I would say. I paid for a 4 bed room and got a 3 bed room! Unbelievable!! Had to share or sleep on the floor on a dirty mattress. The host is an old mad that looks like it's always in a bad mood until you are leaving. If you are looking for a cheap option and don't mind about the facilities. Go for it. If you are looking for something nice, then don't even consider it. Location is good.

Liked: Nothing Disliked: First of all, this 'hotel' (I am not sure we can call this a hotel, I have seen better garages) has two different emplacements. You might go to the main address only to find out they don't have any rooms left (even though you made a reservation) and that you have to go to another place (you were not aware of) that is located next to an Irish bar.

The recepcionist at the main address is extremely rude and barely speaks English. He told us...go there showing a map. And you have to pay now. I said "no way", I'm not gonna pay until I get a room. He was almost shouting at me, but we didn't pay. We got to the place located next to the Irish bar and stayed there for two nights.

I have stayed in hostels and budget hotels for many years and I had never seen anything like this one: dirty, old, filthy, messy!!! Don't go to this 'hotel', spend 10 more and spare yourself a horrible experience.

Liked: Staff are very friendly and more than happy to help. They obviously know their way round Amsterdam and were happy to draw on maps directions to different places of interest. Disliked: Ok, so it is a bit dated and you wouldn't want to stay more than 2 or 3 nights. There's WiFi but that's you're biggest luxury. It was however, what I had expected so I wasn't disappointed.

Liked: I like how helpful the young ladies behind the desk were!

I like that it doesn't really feel like a hotel. I felt very at home. It's not sparkly clean but it's comfortable. Disliked: The staff forgot to supply the bathroom with new toiletpaper. That's the only thing.

Liked: Very close to Dam Square, Centraal station and an easy tram ride to the museums. Disliked: Poor service. Staff were unhelpful and frequently unavailable. Payment options for the hostel are limited and staff appear to have no knowledge of bookings made at the hostel - I.e. who is arriving and when.
