When we came the owner of the place told us he overbooked, so we had to go to another hostel and then come back to the hostel the last day. We had to stay at another hostel he arranged for us 2 days. The second day they told us on the other hostel, that we had to change room otherwise we had to pay even though we paid him. So we had to change room to a very dirty room, which wasnt what we booked. The last day when we went back to his hostel our room wasnt ready so we had to wait till evening

This hostel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of Lisbon with very easy access to the train and metro stations, a taxi rank, restaurants and tourist sights. However the flat itself is very run down and basic. Thin walls right by the reception meant we could hear talking and TV. Shared bathroom between whole flat meant hot water ran out quickly so you have to get up early to shower. Cleanliness wasnt great, there were no wardrobes or drawers and sheets had stains on them.

I had booked two nights, but on arrival was told there was a problem. So the receptionist took me to another pensao in Rossio about 500m away for the first night, and the second night I returned to the original place. Having to change places was disruptive and wasted my time on what should have been my full day in Lisboa, so I was not happy. The receptionist also told me he was a masseur and gave a free massage to help with headache. He tried to lift my dress and after this I did not feel safe.

Good: the location is perfect for getting around, and a small but nice balcony over the busy street. Perfect for someone whos only sleeping in the room and not anymore than that.

Bad: the hostel is essentially stuck in the late 70s so dont expect modern sinks, comfy beds, good lights, efficient fans, intact flooring, or safe locks on the doors.

Overall: this was perfect for me (lone traveller just looking for a place to sleep at night.) Not 10 out of 10 for the above reasons

Dear administrators of HOSTELSCLUB.COM, I do wonder how you have this place in your list of hostels! You should check what you offer! I cannot imagine how an AWFUL, DIRTY, SMELLY AND MISERABLE PLACE like this can exist in 21-st century! I am just speechless about it! As a regular client of your site I do recommend to you to just delete this place from your list and never in future desinform people about it. My rating is a mere zero, but you don not have such a percent. It was money paid absolutely in vain for a stay in this otherwise marvelous city of Lisbon. I do believe that you will consider my opinion! Have my very best regards!

location is great. Of course when you are in the middle of the city there will be noise which did not bother me.

We stayed four nights at this hostel. We were lucky to have a shower and a basin in our room. We only had to share the toilette. The location was really good - in the center of Lisbon. But at night it gets louder because of the many Restaurants directly in front of the hostel. The next metro station was only two minutes away. Unfortunately there is no elevator. The owner lives also at the hostel and uses the same bathroom/Toilette.

great stay!!!

right in the middle of Lisbon

Liked: We liked the advertisement on hostel bookers, but never actually got to stay at the hostel. Didn't like: Very bad customer service, no help, unfriendly.

Liked: Location Didn't like: We were given a different room to the one on the website, didn't have any window and smelled quite bad. When we asked for another room we were told that everything is full and they have people who paid 200 so they have to have a better room. The location was great and it's cheap. Perfect if you only looking for place to sleep.

Liked: Good location Didn't like: Very old building,..

When we arrived, the hostel was closed and there was no one in sight. After roaming around town with our luggage, we had the help of an elderly man who told us that the hostel is not open and is under construction. He called and was able to have someone from the hostel meet us and guide us to other accomodation near by. It was a bit disappointing but at least we had somewhere to stay.

Owners were very kind and spoke English. Clean very bright room. My balcony was right over street with lots of restaraunts so I loved listening to the accordians and street performances!! Very safe, centre of city, min walk to rossio sq.,

Definitely not RECOMMENDET. There is NO KITCHEN. Hot water is VERY LIMITED.

It is a very nice place, in the city centre it is very well located, it is clean and nice. The only thing is that it is quiet, if you want to party it is not the place where you should go, because it is small, is only has 5 or 6 rooms and no common area.

Liked: It is a budget place and save me lots of money. The location cannot be better: near metro, railway station, in the heart of Lisbon, on a pedestrian street with lots of options for eating. The room (for one person) was basic as expected, but clean. I had access to the fridge and could boil water for tea. Didn't like: The staircase is very gloomy (well, 200 years old building) - the pension is on the 4th floor; the kitchen could be renovated to enhance the overall appearance.

It is a very old place which is actually nice, but the walls are very thin so that you always hear your neighbours which is horrible when you have snorring neighbours all the time, skyping at night or whatever...

Liked: The location and price were fantastic, and I love these old properties in the Baixa, though maybe a bit run-down for some tastes? The owner was particularly friendly and helpful in a genuine, low-key, non-commercial way. Didn't like: OK, the decor could have been better, and the sink leaked a bit, but given the budget price and the economic situation in Portugal (where, like everywhere I guess, the little man is being screwed hard to favour the bankers and the elite 1%) I can't really feel too critical about a guy who is obviously doing his best in an honest and straightforward way given the means ay his disposal.

It's a very cheap place, well located in the city, good if you just want a bed. However, it's noisy and one room doesn't have windows. The staff is nice.

Our staff is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian. All rooms are properly furnished and decorated in a friendly and familiar environment, with a beautiful small balcony and overview towards Rua das Portas de Santo Antão and Rossio Square sightseeing.

NOTE: Any delay over 3 hours in expected time of arrival(after 6 p.m.) without previous notice our hostel cannot assure room availability
