Stayed here last year for the Cat Laughs in Kilkenny. we were told it was ten minutes from Kilkenny city. I see this has since been amended, we were actually ten minutes' drive from a bus stop to Kilkenny city which took nearly forty minutes. The woman of the house wasn't very friendly, no sign of refreshments on arrival, we weren't even shown to a lounge or living room. We had to rush to get ready as soon as we got there as the last bus was leaving shortly after we arrived. we drove to the bus stop and had to leave our car overnight as we didnt have time to arrange a taxi. She gave us two local taxi numbers to get us back there. One point blank refused such a long fare on such a busy night and the other charged us 50, and tried to charge more. One night cost us more than a whole weekend should have! The women of the house was so unfriendly it just made the whole thing worse. We were disgusted with our stay. We warned before we came in the door to keep quiet at all times, as other guests were sleeping, yet we were woken by car doors and children the following morning -- very early it may have been guests, I don't know. The house was beautiful as was the breakfast but it doesn't make up for the unfriendly attitude. I would not recommend it to anyone.
